I love thrift store shopping - Jane! Mia! thanks you two have introduced me to that world. One time I actually found size 8 Manolo Blahniks for $3 bucks but I ended up giving it to a friend. They were never worn. I could have sold them on Ebay for at least 250 bucks. Oh well. My husband encourages it also - he's a thrift store junkie too. I need to start listing what I got.
Happy Easter! (black bead neclace $2, white bead necklace $2, easter egg bead neclace $3, rock stone charm bracelet, it flips to different colors $12 - a little pricier than my usual but all from the thrift store :)
our new ikea dish rack :) They just opened a new one in sacramento so Jim & I are ecstatic.
Our sink - Jim got a hook up w/ his cousin - we got a deep copper sink for the kitchen - hand hammered baby! & the sink - let's just say we dropped a pretty penny on that baby - hehe get it penny? copper? i know I'm corny.
Propane Range - Nothing beats Gas!! Electric Boo. papertowel holder Ikea also :)
Jim installed and mounted our 48" tv above the fireplace. He also installed the in wall cabinet for our surround system and computer system :)
Bagel w/ cream cheese. Green ashtray & vase are from Nona. Those are also Nona's orchids. Rectangle glass vase (walmart baby 2 years ago, but they sell it at Ikea for twice the price now)
I love dollar store candles.
Mama chair on the left. Kodi chair on the right - down comforter couch w/ ottoman scored it from the thrift store for $75 matches Nona's shawl.
Jim and I's favorite hang out - besides the bedroom :) Thats a red leaf banana on the corner window.
Candles Yay!
We got this canoe as a wedding present from my uncle. That's nona's gong. and behind is a display case (wood case - thrift store half off $25) w/ Jim's hand carved grandpa's billy clubs and gavel. Jim's Grandpa (nona's husband) was a patternmaker - he used to make the San Francisco Firemen's ladders. He would make cabinet patterns, gavels, etc. He was also a member of the Masons :)
Our new coffeetable from IKEA.
Can you tell I was bored Saturday & i just started taking photos - well not to mention I cleaned the house so i wanted to take a picture of it to know how it "supposed to look"
We inherited Nona's dining table & hutch.
I got the brown/pink polka dot wrapping paper from the dollar store. Place mats were also from there but they sell similar stuff at Crate & Barrell for a lot more!!!) Candles - dollar store! but those are Nona's brass candle holders :)
I ate a LOT OF HAM, and for the first time liked beets - our friend made fabulous dinner - garlic mashed potatoes, w/ thyme gravy, zucchini casserole w/ salad. Not to mention I probably had a dozen devilled eggs. Jim claims I had more. I made apple pie and custard snow pie :) I LOVE FOOD. preggo or no preggo.
